    Years ago l became aware of Henri Cartier Bresson (mainly through the TimeLife series of photographic books published from the mid seventies, l think l received one every month or so)..What he called the 'Decisive Moment' is what caught my eye. After many years doing other 'things' l am now revisiting my youthful exuberance for street photography. Thanks for rekindling a 50 year old itch!...

Bellissime foto, complimenti.

    What I got from the video is my opinion of how to do art is better than yours and if you don’t agree you’re lazy. What I love about street photography is you can have 10 photographers take pics of the same spot and get different interpretations of the scene. Some maybe better than others but who’s to say any of them are wrong. That’s just hubris.

    • @MikeChudley

      Fair enough. But some photographs will be better than others, I’m not going to pretend everyone’s equally as talented as each other - I’m just being honest. But I respect your point of view. Thanks for watching.

    Mike - First, may I say what a breath of fresh air you are in the world of highly-opinionated "experts" who believe that talking fast and loud constitutes the ability to educate. You are a masterful presenter and instructor. Second, congrats on getting the M-11P kit; I am right where you were, on the cusp, and you have pushed me over the line - thanks. I have been shooting the Q2M since it came out - the term "gateway drug" always comes to mind when I pick it up! A question: did you ever consider a 50mm vs. the 35? Also, did you look at Voightlander lenses vs. Leica? Keep up the great work - thanks!

    Great idea for a project passing the lens around. Be careful getting into vintage lenses, it's a slippery slope!😂 I love how they all render slightly differently and the different bokeh you get from them. So much nicer than modern glass.

    Hi Mike, 40mm is one of my favourite focal lengths for street. Does the M11-P have a gridline matching 40mm? I am using a Voigtlander Bessa R3A which has a 40mm gridline, together with the Voigtlander Nokton 40mm f1.4.

    This is genuinely one of the worst photography takes I’ve ever heard. Especially when there are far more accomplished and compelling street photographers than yourself who completely disagree with you. A lens cant ruin your photography. It can add challenges and creative limits but that’s part of the fun. Personally I HATE the 24mm focal length but people love it. But would it be right for me to say 24mm or wider is RUINING your street photography? No. Ofc it doesn’t. Just a stupid and pointless video that will discourage people from using different focal lengths

    • @MikeChudley
      @MikeChudley 8 дней назад

      Did you watch the entire thing? I’d be really surprised if you did But I understand you’re reaction towards a RUclips video you disagree with. That’s fair enough. But I think if we discussed this in real life with back and forth dialogue I could make my point with a softer blow. We would probably have a normal conversation about it😂 The main point is simply the dunning Kruger effect. Jamie Windsor also just made a video, this week about ‘the shallow depth of field trap’ - that’s pretty much what I’m saying here too. Of course, everyone can have opinions so i respect yours. Have a great day :)

    Hi, I'm new to photography. What do they call the style of photo at the 4:44 mark. I'm referring to the color, there is less colors and feels darker or flat. What do they call that? I have a X100V and would like to learn how to dial in my camera so all my jpeg come out that way and not have to rely as much on Adobe to adjust the photo. Thanks!
